In the Andes, boys of ten make their own hats with puntas and other intricate stitches, using fine yarns of many colors and tiny needles. We have adapted the puntas technique for our simple, circular-knit three-color cap.
Easy Knitting
The Puntas (points) are inspired by the incredible knitting of the Andes. Puntas done as fine as 28 sts / inch edge many a colorful hat. Boys as young as ten learn the necessary skills, and knit their own intricate hats. This sweater incorporates this great technique. Pattern includes Children's and Adult Sizes

Our signature sweater is easier to knit than it looks. Find out how liberating it is to use steeks. The background and pattern colors change every 3-6 rows, creating gradual color shifts. Steeksat the neck and armholes allow you to work quickly in the round right up to the shoulders. Pattern Includes Children's & Adult Sizes and 3 different colorways.
Advanced Knitting
This four-color pattern uses only two colors at a time. Styled as a pullover or cardigan, it is sized for children and adults. Garter stitch borders the cuff, hem and neckline, and adds interest in the stripes. For greater warmth and sophisticated drape, choose Alpaca Elegance or Sylvan Spirit. There are many colorful ways to make this pullover as distinctive as the child who wears it. This worsted weight pattern uses contrasting colors to make a striking yoke, making it an excellent project for customers to combine new yarns for the main color and “stash” yarns for the contrasting colors. This is also a great project to use with that special skein of hand painted or handspun yarn.
