The prototype of this hat was “borrowed” by our staff members for ski outings to various mountains during the snowy winter of 2007-08. This warm and flattering hat has a cabled band that is knit sideways and an attractive double decrease at the crown. The cabled band can be knit alone to wear as an earwarmer.

Intermediate Knitting
With two contrasting colors of Capricorn, you can creat two very different hats by switching the position of the colors from main to accent. Consider combining two different handpainted colors, one natural color with one handpaint, or two naturals

Equally lovely as a scarf or shawl, this pattern for lace and sport weight yarns is simple and satisfying. Designed for the Spinnery’s Sock Art yarn, the pattern also works well with a larger needle in Sylvan Spirit.
