Libby designed this vest after a visit to Scotland’s Outer Hebrides Islands, famous for their sheep and traditional knitting.
The stitch pattern is based on Elizabeth Lovick’s book Patterns for North Ronaldsay Yarn.Liz named the design “Blanster” after a farm on South Ronaldsay Island mentioned in early medieval documents, which is still there today.

Finished Chest Measurement:

33 (38, 44, 49) in / 84 (96.5, 112, 124.5) cm 

Gauge: 18 sts over 4 in / 10 cm on larger needles

Yarn Requirements: Mountain Mohair or Weekend Wool  – 4 (5, 6, 6) skeins
Maine Organic – 3 (3, 3, 4) skeins

Needles: size 5 US / 3.75 mm AND size 7 US / 4.5 mm circulars, at least 29 in / 80 cm long
double pointed needles – size 5 US / 3.75 mm AND size 7 US / 4.5 mm
Buttons: 6 (6, 7, 7)
