Top-Down Construction
These socks are named for the current steward of the Catskill Merino Sheep farm. These top-down socks can be worked with your choice of length, and can even be worn inside out! Maureen has crafted a modified tuck stitch texture that looks as attractive on the wrong side as it does on the right side.

Intermediate Knitting
Sizes: Womens medium (US 8) in ankle or calf length
Gauge: 32 sts over 4”/ 10cm in stockinette; for accuracy, check gauge and adjust needle size if necessary.
Yarn Requirements: 1 skein of GMS 2-ply Fingering: Forest or Lana for (MC), 1 skein of Catskill Merino 2-ply Fingering for (CC) or two contrasting skeins of GMS Forest or Lana.
Needles:Size US 1 / 2.25 mm circular needles, 40” / 100 cm or DPN’s of same size.
