All summer long you’ll hear Vermont farmers talking about hay. The curving parallel lines of drying grass follow the contours of the fields creating a textured landscape that speaks of summer’s long days and soft evenings. This relaxed cardigan features a slipped stitch seeded rib along the collar, cuffs and hem that resembles the soft windrows of hay found in Vermont fields in late July and August. The open fronted sweater can be knit up with any of our DK weight yarns for a utilitarian wardrobe staple that can be flexibly styled to work for any outfit or occasion.

The Flat Iron Cowl – 231

This quick and fun cowl is the perfect choice to pop on when you get a last-minute call to meet the girls for coffee. The lace pattern creates swirls reminiscent of latte art, so we named this cowl after a local coffee shop in Bellows Falls that hosts a weekly knitting social we hate to miss.

When summer temperatures cause the mercury to rise, we gravitate towards smaller accessories, both to make and to wear. This crescent shawl is the perfect addition to your summer wardrobe for that touch of comfort to ward off overzealous air-conditioning chill. The garter stitch rows and short-row sections of contrasting stockinette grow in size, resulting in a generous overall length that won’t leave you feeling engulfed.
